The SimCell® platform:
A new tool for human health.
SimCell® technology – developed at the University of Oxford – can produce non-replicating bacterial cells for a variety of healthcare applications. SimCells® are made by enzymatically removing the entire genome from whole cells, preserving other important cellular features while making cell division impossible. SimCells® give us the power to use engineered microorganisms in vivo without the possibility of unwanted growth, enabling new and effective ways to safeguard human health.
